Behind the tombstones, pumpkins, lights, and things that go bump in the night is Mr. Ghould — Ryan Gould, the creator of Ghould’s Haunted Cemetery & Pumpkin Patch.

Halloween has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up, my dad was the one who transformed our yard for Halloween, and some of my favorite memories are of the displays he created and the props he collected over the years.

In 2015, I set up a Halloween display on my own for the first time, using many of my dad’s old decorations and props. It was a way of bringing those childhood memories back to life and continuing something that had always meant a lot to me.

Then, in 2020, Ghould’s Haunted Cemetery & Pumpkin Patch officially began.

What started as a yard display has continued to grow year after year. More tombstones. More pumpkins. More lights. More animated props. And eventually, an entire walk-through experience.

Today, I spend months planning, building, repairing, programming, and adding new ideas to the haunt. A lot of what you see is handmade or modified, and setup begins long before October so everything can be ready for Halloween season.

But for me, the best part isn't just building it.

It's seeing families stop by, kids getting excited, people taking pictures, and visitors returning year after year to see what's changed.

My goal has always been simple:

Keep the Halloween spirit alive, continue a family tradition, and make something the community can enjoy together.

Every year the cemetery gets a little bigger, a little brighter…and maybe a little more haunted. 👻
